ISLAMABAD: CDA on Monday said that construction work will begin in sector I-11. The civic agency’s engineering wing also called for the tender to construct four box culverts, which can be likened to an alternate drainage system, in sub-sector I-11/2.

CDA’s spokesperson Mazhar Hussain said: “Estimated cost of this project is Rs137.4 million. The culverts have been planned in I-11/2 to drain high volumes of water and handle a higher flow rate than pipes. The culverts will further accommodate vehicular and pedestrian movement. Work in the sector is being carried out as part of a comprehensive strategy by the CDA Administration, to develop neglected residential sectors and uplift infrastructure in Islamabad. A few days back, CDA also issued tenders for storm drainage work in I-11.”

Meanwhile, according to a statement issued by CDA, its Enforcement Directorate conducted operations at different places on Monday.

“During one such operation, it demolished an illegally constructed boundary wall and one shop near Dhok Kala Khan service road on the Pindi side. The encroachments were made on state land, by blocking pedestrian and vehicular passage. Similarly, one under-construction boundary wall in G-7 was also razed,” it read.
