TIMERGARA: The Lower Dir administration on Friday announced to adopt a strategy for coping with the increasing number of Covid-19 patients in the district.

A meeting in this regard was held here at Balambat with deputy commissioner Saadat Hassan in the chair. DHO Mohammad Nazir, MS Timergara hospital Dr Shaukat Ali, deputy DHO Dr Irshad Roghani and other stakeholders were also present on the occasion.

The participants discussed issues related to coronavirus emergency and it was decided that arrangements at the quarantine centres and isolation wards would be reviewed and infrastructure and human resource capacity would be revitalised according to the need.

The meeting also decided to provide PPEs to hospitals to effectively deal with Covid-19 pandemic. Besides, the PCR lab at the DHQ hospital would be made functional as soon as possible to enhance the testing capacity.
