SUKKUR: Journalists held a demonstration in front of the press club in Khanpur Mahar on Wednesday in protest against the murder of their colleague Zulfiqar Mandrani the other day by some armed men in Dodapur town of Jacobabad district.

Leading the protest, Azeem Sial, Shahzado Larik, Sail Qazi and others said the murder was an act of terrorism. They said fake cases were being registered against newsmen while life threats to them and harassment had become a daily routine, but neither the government nor police took any action in this regard.

In this situation the journalists felt insecure, they added.

They demanded of the higher authorities to provide justice to the heirs of the victim by arresting killers of Zulfiqar Mandrani, otherwise they would widen the scope of their protest.
