Advance party arrives

ISLAMABAD, Sep 8: A four-member Australian advance party arrived in Islamabad early on Thursday morning three days before the Commonwealth Games Queen’s Baton Torch Relay reaches the capital. Jessica Grant, Andra Hutchins, Brian Elliot and Joseph Castro were received at the Islamabad International Airport by a team of local sports officials.

The visiting team will call on the Director General of Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Brig. Arif Mahmud Siddiqui on Friday morning. They will be briefed on the arrangements that have been made for the torch relay which will be arriving here from Canada on Sunday.

The torch relay has to pass through all the Commownwealth countries before the start of March 15-26 Games in Melbourne.
