Confusion about coronavirus figures resurfaces in Punjab

LAHORE: There seems data reporting problems as the Punjab Primary and Secondary Health Department and Punjab Home Department’s Corona Crisis Management Cell (CCMC) are reporting different figures of death.

The home department’s CCMC had reported 258 deaths till 11.30am on Sunday, while the health department at 3pm reported 252 deaths.

Similarly, the home department’s CCMC says the total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab is 14,772, while the primary health department says the total number of positive patients is 14,584.

During the past 24 hours, as many as 383 new cases have been reported and they included 191 in Lahore, 47 in Faisalabad, 43 in Multan, 34 in Rawalpindi and 20 each in Gujranwala and D.G. Khan.

A health department spokesman says 163,466 lab tests have been conducted so far.
