PSF invites Farhan for trials

ISLAMABAD, Sept 6: The Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF), taking a lenient view of the ban on Farhan Mahboob has invited him to appear in trials for this December’s World Team Championship.

Farhan had been banned from playing national and international squash in May following a tiff with coach Rehmat Khan.

Secretary of PSF, Wng Cdr Zulfiqar Ahmed said on Tuesday that Farhan however would remain under ban till early November.

The trials for the championship in Islamabad will be held between Sept 13-18.

Zulfiqar said that the president of PSF, Air Marshal Kaleem Saadat had decided to lift the financial sanctions on Khalid Atlas who had filed a mercy petition.

“Keeping in view improvement in his game and attitude, the president has accorded approval for lifting of sanctions on him and he will be considered for all benefits in future.”

Meanwhile, Carla Khan, winner of last week’s first POF WISPA squash tournament in Wah, is to replace Muqaddas Ashraf on the Pakistan contingent for the Islamic Games in Tehran.
