TOBA TEK SINGH, Sept 6: Former district nazim Chaudhry Muhammad Ashfaq on Tuesday announced withdrawal of his candidature for the top slot. Speaking to journalists, he claimed that he would fully support Chaudhry Abdul Sattar, the ruling PML nominee for the office. He said he would run the campaign of Chaudhry Sattar and his (Ashfaq’s) brother Mian Javed Iqbal, who has been named for the tehsil nazim slot.

Meanwhile, all opposition parties in the United Front and a former PPP leader, Qazi Ghayyasuddin, criticized Chaudhry Ashfaq’s announcement and their unison. They decided at a meeting to withdraw support to Chaudhry Sattar and Mian Javed.
