RAHIM YAR KHAN: An eight-year-old child died after falling in a sewerage hole near Shahbazpur Road here on Sunday.

Irshaad, uncle of Muhammad Zubair, said the child had been missing since Friday evening. He along with Zubair’s father Muhammad Asghar searched for him and also submitted an application about his disappearance in local police station. On Sunday, they found his body in a nearby sewerage hole.

He said the residents of the area had submitted many applications in Municipal Corporation (MC) for the covers of five sewerage holes in their area but to no avail.

He said that a few days ago when they decided to write an application to the deputy commissioner, an MC officer, Ansar Mahmood, visited their area with sanitary in charge Salamat.

He alleged that his nephew had died due to the negligence of the MC employees.
