Zone-VI ‘W’ scoop title

KARACHI, Oct 14: KCCA Zone-VI Whites clinched the KCCA Inter-zonal Under-19 championship defeating Zone-II Whites by seven wickets in a low scoring match at the academy ground in the National Stadium Saturday.

Put into bat, Zone II-Whites were dismissed for 125 in 48 overs with Akbar Rahman (23), Kaleem Siddique (22) making contributions of note.

Paceman Ahmad Saeed and Saeed Khan equally shared six wickets between them conceding 21 and 46 runs respectively.

Zone VI-Whites easy overhauled the target in 27.1 overs — thanks to a 78-run first wicket stand between Shahid Ayub (23) and skipper Fahad Anjum. Fahad slammed seven boundaries in his 51. Ahmer Saeed chipped in with 23.

Fahad Anjum won the Man-of-the-Match award, Khurram Mansoor (Zone-IV) was adjudged the best batsman, Kaleem Siddique (Zone-II) best bowler and Naeem Ahmad Khan (Zone-VI) best wicketkeeper.
