MIANWALI: Five bogies of a goods train derailed on Friday night between Daudkhel railway station and Dher Umaid Ali Shah, 25 kilometres from here.

Five bogies of a goods train carrying imported material from a cement factory from Karachi derailed. Special rescue teams of railways from Kundian junction and personnel from the cement factory rushed to the site.

The track could not be cleared till the filing of this report, while department officials started an inquiry into the accident.

The century-old track needed urgent restoration. Due to the damaged track, the successful railcar service between Mianwali and Rawalpindi had been abandoned long ago.
