KARACHI, Sept 4: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) has deplored that the military rulers have been taking decisions, against the interests of the nation and the country, at individual level despite the fact that a parliament is very much there.

MMA MNAs Mohammad Hussain Mehanti, Abdul Sattar Afghani and Laeeq Khan, in a statement issued here on Sunday, said that Foreign Minister Khurshid Qasuri’s meeting with his Israeli counterpart was in fact the first step towards recognizing Israel.

They said the whole world was aware of the atrocities let loose by Israel on Palestinians, and to consider giving Tel Aviv recognition was tantamount to stabbing in the back of Palestinians.

ISO DEMO: The Imamia Students Organization, Karachi chapter, staged a rally on Sunday outside the Karachi Press Club in protest against the government’s move to establish links with Israel. Participants of the rally burnt US and Israeli flags and adopted a resolution against any step leading to the recognition of Israel.

The Pakhtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party has also its reservation over the Pakistan-Israel relations. Party leaders, Salim Khan Tareen, Afzal Khan and Siraj Khan, said that recognition of Israel could not provide a guarantee for Pakistan’s security.
