QUETTA: Balochistan Finance Minister Zahoor Ahmed Buledi has said that the provincial government has lunched various development projects in Kech district and now it is the responsibility of the authorities concerned to complete them in time.

Presiding over a meeting on Sunday to review the pace of work on development schemes launched to improve the lives of people of Kech district, the minister warned the authorities to ensure quality as the government will not tolerate substandard work.

In order to ensure timely completion of these projects, Mr Buledi directed Commissioner of Makran Division Tariq Qamar to visit the site and let him know about any hurdle so the issue could be resolved.

The finance minister was briefed on different projects in health, education and agriculture sectors, a water supply scheme and Turbat-Buleda road and he assured that funds would be released to ensure timely completion of these schemes.

Divisional director health Dr Akhtar Buledi informed the minister that a basic health centre of three rooms had been set up at the border where passengers returning from Iran were being screened for coronavirus.

He said a screening facility had been also been set up at Turbat International Airport. All out efforts were being made to contain the spread of coronavirus across the division, he added.

Member of the Balochistan Assembly Rashid Dashti, Kech Deputy Commissioner retired Major Ilyas Kibzai, Assistant Commission of Panjgur Amjad Saleem, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Gwadar Anis Tariq and district officers also attended the meeting.
