Army troops leave for Congo

LAHORE, Sept 3: The first batch of Pakistan Army troops on Saturday left for Congo to perform peace-keeping duties under the United Nations Mission. According to an ISPR release, Brigadier Tariq Minhas bade the troops farewell at the Allama Iqbal International Airport, prior to their departure on a UN chartered aircraft this morning.

The batch comprises about 200 military personnel, including major component of infantry and a sizeable strength of supporting arms, that will relieve the troops on completion of their duty tenure as part of a rotation plan.—APP
