National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser has said that the government's early steps to combat the coronavirus pandemic is the reason Pakistan's Covid-19 situation is "less intense" as compared to other countries.

Qaiser made the remarks in a meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan during which they exchanged views on the efforts being made to combat Covid-19.

The NA speaker also informed the premier that a special parliamentary committee has been constituted to discuss and give recommendations for holding an NA session.
