SAHIWAL, Sept 3: Three family members were killed and as many sustained injuries in a road accident here on Friday night. The family of Mauza Alam Shah (Faisalabad) was returning from Sahiwal by car (ESA-3910). Owing to its high speed, the car overturned and then smashed into a roadside tree. Consequently, Ghulam Husain, his wife Dilshad and mother-in-law Jindan Bibi died instantly while Ahmed Hasan (10), Fayyaz (6) and Ahmed (3) received injuries.

A case has been registered.

DACOITIES: Armed bandits looted cash and valuables worth Rs396,000 in three different strikes here on Saturday.

Two motorcyclists entered the clinic of Dr Kashif Ishaq in W-Block, Tariq Bin Ziad Colony. They held hostage all those present there at pistol point, collected Rs6,000 from the clinic and five cell phones from patients and escaped from the scene.

Two bandits entered Al-Falah Mobile Centre in Jinnah Street and took away Rs60,000 in cash, 17 mobile phones and pre-paid cards worth Rs40,000.

Unidentified armed bandits looted Rs90,000 in cash from the CNG filling station in Model Town, Chichawatni.

Police have registered separate cases with no arrest.
