Pakistan cricket team's tour to the Netherlands — due to take place in July — has been "postponed indefinitely" after the country banned all sports and cultural events until September 1 in an effort to contain the coronavirus pandemic.

According to a statement by the Pakistan Cricket Board, the decision was made on advice from the Koninklijke Nederlandse Cricket Bond (KNCB).

The statement quoted PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan as saying: "It is sad that we have to postpone our July tour to the Netherlands, but in the prevailing circumstances, this is absolutely the right thing to do as human lives are far more precious and valuable than a cricket match or an event."
