MULTAN: Shujabad police on Monday arrested a seminary teacher for allegedly raping a 13-year-old mentally challenged girl.

A resident of New Housing Colony in Shujabad lodged a complaint with the police that a seminary teacher had raped his mentally challenged minor daughter for three months. He said since his daughter could not speak properly, he had admitted her to a seminary so she could get religious education.

“For the past 15 days, she would start crying whenever asked to go to the seminary. When asked, the girl told her mother that the seminary teacher used to rape her after tying her hands,” the complainant told police.

Police got the girl’s medical examination conducted and after the report confirmed she had been raped, a first information report was registered and the suspect arrested.
