12 held with arms

LAHORE, Sept 2: Police on Friday claimed to have arrested 12 men on charges of possessing illicit weapons and attempting to snatch ballot boxes. A press statement issued by Lahore police said police teams were set up on information that some elements were planning to rig in the re-polling held on Sept 1.

The teams conducted raids in Rang Mahal and Badami Bagh, and rounded up the accused, who were sent to police lock-ups. —Staff Reporter
