LAHORE, Sept 2: Haji Abdul Mannan is the joint candidate of ARD and MMA for the Lahore district nazim. The decision was taken by leaders of the two alliances here on Friday night.

The PML-N, a component of the ARD, had initially mooted the names of Asad Muhammad and Khwaja Hassan but in the end accepted PPP’s Mannan as the consensus candidate.

As far as the nine towns are concerned, the meeting decided that the PPP and PML-N will field their panels of nazim and naib nazim candidates in Ravi, Shalimar, Nishtar, Samanabad and Aziz Bhatti towns while the MMA will share it with PPP in Wagah.
