Sindh Chief Minister's Special Assistant Waqar Mehdi has expressed concern over the increasing number of cases emerging in Karachi's South district. During a meeting of the monitoring committee for district South, it was decided that rapid testing be conducted in areas where most were being reported from.

The participants of the meeting were told that a rapid testing kit has been procured by the provincial government, which would confirm the presence of the virus in 10 minutes. The kit was used to conduct Mehdi's test, which turned out to be negative.
