KHAIRPUR, Aug 31: The All Pakistan Small Traders and Cottage Industries Association, Sukkur, has decided to launch a protest movement against the attitude of district administration and Khairpur police.

Hafiz Masroor Latif, the convener of association, said at a press conference here on Wedneday that the protest would be launched on Sept 4 in cooperation with 20 other trade organizations of Khairpur.

He said the local police was not taking interest in recovery of the kidnapped trader Mushtaq Ahmed, who had been kidnapped on August 2, along with his driver Abdul Hameed Burdi.

Mr Latif said that police did not lodge an FIR and harassed the relatives of the kidnapped.

The chairman of Anjuman-e-Tajiran, Qutubuddin Sheikh, was also present on the occasion.

jsqm: The chairman of Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM), Basheer Qureshi, has said the recently held local body elections would not provide relief to the people of Sindh.

He was speaking at a gathering of party workers in Qureshi village near Saghiyoon on Tuesday night.

He said the LB polls witnessed bloodshed, disputes, rigging and clashes throughout the country.

He also offered condolence with the relatives of Mohammad Umer Qureshi, who had been killed on the polling day. He warned that people would launch a protest against a union council and its nazim if it favoured the construction of Kalabagh dam.
