JACOBABAD, Aug 31: Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim nominated Begum Saeeda Soomro, mother of Senate Chairman Mohammedmian Soomro, for the post of Jacobabad district nazim.

He said all allied groups in the district had extended full support to her.

The chief minister was talking to reporters at circuit house here on Wednesday.

He said the taluka nazims would be selected later.

Mr Rahim said no seat adjustment was made with the People’s Party Parliamentarian or the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal in any taluka or district of the province.

He said that the government-backed panel was in majority in every city of the province and therefore they did not need to make any seat adjustment with any party.

The CM said the government would take serious action against the ‘jail bharo movement’ of the PPP, if started.

He said jirgas were part of our society and no one could deny their effectiveness in providing quick justice to people.
