KARACHI, Aug 31: The Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) is considering creating new faculty and departments of humanities. This was said in a statement of the varsity quoting its Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dr Iqbal Mohsin, on Wednesday.

It said that the VC while addressing heads of teaching departments of the Faulty of Arts said the significance of the humanities cannot be ignored. He said steps were being taken for improving the academic standard and for promoting extra-curricular activities.

The VC said the library was being expanded and new books would be procured. He also visited the departments of Economics, Political Science, English, Islamiat, Psychology and Social Work, and talked to students regarding their problems. — APP
