Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has formed a committee of doctors, headed by Health and Population Welfare Minister Dr Azra Pechuho to devise a plan for tackling the coronavirus pandemic.
The committee also includes Dr Asim Hussain of Ziauddin Hospital and Dr Saadia Virk of South City Hospital among others. In a meeting at the Chief Minister House, the CEOs and owners of the private hospitals assured Shah that they would provide equipment, manpower, technical and expert support to the provincial government whenever needed.
The chief minister also said that he would "consult with his cabinet and other stakeholders" after the owners and heads of hospitals asked him to extend the lockdown.
