LAHORE, Aug 30: Sixteen probables reported at the Punjab football training camp which started at the Punjab Stadium on Tuesday. The camp has been set up by the Punjab Football Association to prepare the Punjab women’s team who will take part in the first national women championship to be held in Islamabad from Sept 22 to 31.

In all, 26 probables were selected for the camp after holding one-day trials at the Punjab Stadium on Saturday. Coach Hafiz Tahir Mahmood, said that the probables who had reported at the camp belong to Faisalabad, Lahore, Gujranwala and Samundari districts. The remaining probables would also join the camp soon.

He said that more trials would be held on Sept 10 to select the final 16 players and two stand-bys.

Probables: Mariam Sheikh, Salma Shaukat, Nazia Naz, Tehrim Iqbal, Amna Ali, Ana Daniyal, Saman Islam, Naeemia Naeem Butt, Sobia Younis, Ambreen Naz, Kiran Ilyas, Shahzadi Irum, (Lahore), Sheeka Nazir (Sheikhupura), Taskin Azmat (Sargodha), Nazia Parvin, Saima Younis, Saima Khurshid, Rafia Parvin, (Vehari) Rehman Javed, Fauzia Chaudhary (Gujranwala), Ambreen (Jehlum), Saima Hidyat, Rukhsana Talib, Farjeen Anwar, Nighat Naheed (Faisalabad) and Khadija (Cheecha Watni).
