ISLAMABAD, Aug 30: President of the Pakistan Muslim League Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain met ARD Chairman Makhdoom Amin Fahim during the National Assembly session here on Tuesday and assured him that the government would try to remove opposition’s reservations about the local body elections.

A report telecast by a private television channel quoted PML and ARD sources as saying that during the meeting Makhdoom Amin Fahim apprised Chaudhary Shujaat about opposition’s complaints regarding the polls.

He said that the opposition might decide not to take part in any future elections held under President Pervez Musharraf.

Chaudhary Shujaat, according to the report, said the government would remove opposition’s reservations and work along with the opposition to promote democracy.
