MUZAFFARGARH: Sanitary workers of the Muzaffargarh District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital have protested against the administration for not releasing their salary in the past four months.
On Wednesday, sanitary workers of the DHQ Hospital left work, saying that the administration had failed to address the issue.
Many female workers said in these days of the Covid-19 pandemic, their children and other family members had been under lockdown but they had no money to buy food items or flour.
They said they would not return to work unless their pending salaries were released.
Deputy Commissioner Amjad Shoaib Tareen said he was looking into the matter.
He said workers should be facilitated and their salaries released.
Local MPA Abdul Hayee Dasti visited the hospital, held talks with the protesters and also talked to the DC.
He said the pending salaries would be released within two days.
