BAHAWALPUR, Aug 29: Baghdadul Jadid police arrested six university students of two groups for alleged hooliganism here on Sunday night. According to police, three students of the Islamia University Bahawalpur were allegedly injured by their opponents at the hostel. They went for medical aid at the emergency of Bahawal Victoria Hospital. The police arrested the injured, Haroon Shehzad, Faisal Farooq and Zahid Siddique. On their disclosure, the police arrested Irfan, Abdullah Asim and their unidentified fellow after raiding at the hostel.

MURDERED: A girl was allegedly murdered after rape in a nearby village of Yazman on Sunday. Police said the daughter of labourer Muhammad Ramzan was residing at the fields of her landlord. Her parents informed the police of their daughter’s alleged suicide whose body was found hanging with a rope. The autopsy showed that the girl was raped before her alleged murder. There were marks of violence on her body, the police said.

ELECTROCUTED: A labourer, Arif, was electrocuted while working at a fodder machine here at Chak 42-DB near Yazman.
