Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra said that a letter, calling for disciplinary action against a doctor in Swabi who posted pictures wearing plastic bags due to shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE), has been taken back.

In a video message shared on Twitter, Jhagra said that the health department's notification calling for action against the doctor had been circulated on social media.

He noted that while according to the health department the pictures posted by the doctor were "contrived", they were taking the letter back and ending the inquiry here.

"At this point our first priority is the moral of our doctors. However, let me state categorically that I have no reason to disbelieve the local administration; their inquiry finds that the gentleman faked the consultation, which would be an extremely irresponsible act," he said.
