Strike observed in Khanpur Mahar

SUKKUR, Aug 29: A complete shutter-down strike was observed in Khanpur Mahar on Monday in protest against arrest of 20 people from different hotels of the city. The Ghotki Town Police Officer Inayat Bhatti said these people were arrested for their involvement in motorcycle snatching. According to police, many motorcycles had been snatched at gunpoint in Khanpur Mahar during the last few days.

Police sources termed the arrests an attempt to improve of law and order in the city. Members of the Lund biradari termed it a political victimization and alleged Mahar Sardars were behind it.—BoC
