DERA GHAZI KHAN: Five people, including two doctors, were declared cronavirus positive and shifted to the Indus Hospital in Muzaffargarh on Friday, health authorities of the teaching hospital of Ghazi Khan Medical College told Dawn.

The doctors who tested positive are pathologists and they had performed duty at the quarantine established at the agriculture campus of Ghazi University to treat the pilgrims.

More than 800 pilgrims stayed there for 14 days and five people other than pilgrims, including two doctors, have tested positive for the virus.

The tests of 550, of 814, were negative and those are being sent back to homes under strict monitoring and security. Most of the pilgrims hail from Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Rawalpindi and Gujarnwala. Heath authorities told Dawn that health of these pilgrims would further be monitored regularly in their homes for certain period.

After at least after 14 days of the establishment of the quarantine, as well as five local positive cases, the Punjab government provided 1,000 PPEs for doctors doing duty at the quarantine and the teaching hospital.
