LAHORE, Aug 28: South African Academy ended their tour of Pakistan on a high note on Sunday after scoring consolation four-run victory over Pakistan Academy in the rain-marred final one-day match at the Sheikhupura Stadium.

However, Pakistan Academy clinched the three-match series 2-1.

The tourists, batting first, had reached 34 for one in nine overs when play was held up by heavy showers. When the match restarted, the number of overs was cut by half, with each innings confined to 25 overs.

South African Academy ended up with 164 for nine with opener Mark Williamson hitting 45, including four fours.

Leg-spinner Mansoor Amjad snared four for 57.

The target was revised under the D/L Method and the home team was required to chase 176 in 25 overs.

Despite a fine fourth-wicket partnership of 109 between skipper Hasan Raza, who blasted 67 off 62 balls with seven fours and one six and Shahid Yousuf (56 off 58 balls with five fours), Pakistan Academy reached 171 for five in the allotted overs.

The home team also won the two four-day match series 1-0.
