KARACHI: The city’s municipal administration has launched an extensive fumigation campaign all over the metropolis from district South, it emerged on Thursday.

Official sources said that as many as 40 spray vehicles of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) were used in district South on Wednesday in the drive launched on the directive of Mayor Wasim Akhtar.

They said the KMC staff started carrying out the fumigation in district East on Thursday evening.

The sources said the chairmen of both the district municipal committees were provided 40 vehicles along with staff for fumigation in their respective districts.

Earlier presiding over a meeting with the KMC fumigation staff, the mayor directed them that they must ensure fumigation in the densely-populated parts of the city, especially the narrow lanes and drains.
