In the middle of conflicting reports about Pakistan's first death from coronavirus, Reuters reported that the country's first fatality had occurred in Punjab. The report stated that the death was announced on a web portal launched by the health ministry.

However, the information on the portal has since been revised; the portal had earlier showed one death in Pakistan but was later changed to show zero deaths.

Meanwhile, Punjab Health Minister Yasmin Rashid has said that the patient in question was suspected to have coronavirus.

"I will only confirm the case once we receive his lab results," she had said at a press conference in Lahore earlier.
