ABBOTTABAD, Aug 26: The wildlife department of Abbottabad has caught a leopard near Kala Bagh-Nathiagali early on Friday, according to Syed Safdar Ali Shah, an official of the department.
He told reporters on Friday that the department had made arrangements to catch leopards which were attacking and killing people. For this purpose, cages were placed at different places with the department staff doing round-the-clock monitoring.
It may be mentioned that over the last three months, roaming leopards killed at least seven people — six women and one child. The predators have also caused huge losses in Galyat and other hilly areas of the district.
The wildlife department hired services of some professionals and police commandos who have up to now killed two leopards and caught one alive.
