Zone-II Whites in final

KARACHI, Aug 25: Fine batting by Farhan Rafiq, Hamza Ishtiaq and Shoaib Khaliq propelled Zone-II Whites into the final of the KCCA Under-17 Inter-zonal Cricket Championship with a convincing 109-run victory over Zone-III Whites on Wednesday.

Batting first, Zone-II Whites rattled up 263 for three in 50 overs after winning the toss in the first semifinal at the KCCA Stadium.

Farhan led the runs onslaught with 78, which was laced with nine fours and one six. Opener struck 10 boundaries in making 70 while Shoaib Khaliq contributed 61 with six hits to the ropes.

Zone-III Whites never challenged the imposing total and were all out for 154 in the 44th over. Mujahid made a defiant 45. Leg-spinner Abdul Jabbar bowled well to capture three for eight.
