KARACHI, Aug 24: Polling for election to the Academic Council of the University of Karachi from two constituencies of university teachers was held on Wednesday. Giving an unofficial account of election result, a spokesman for the varsity said that Mohammad Ahmad Qadri and Sarwar Nasim were elected from the associate professors cadre, while Moazzam Ali Khan, Tayyaba Shaheen Zafar and Muhammad Zubair were returned from the assistant professor/lecturers constituency.

Since there was a tie between Masooma Mir and Dr Shahid Qureshi for the fourth seat of assistant professor/lecturers cadre, a decision would be taken in line with varsity rules on Thursday, added the spokesman.
