RAWALPINDI: Holy Family Hospital (HFH) Medical Superintendent Dr Shahzad Ahmed has formed a two-member committee to probe theft of air-conditioners’ (AC) spare parts from the hospital’s premises.

Spare parts of 14 air-conditioners were stolen from the hospital. The committee comprises Additional Medical Superintendent Administration Dr Mohammad Tanveer and Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr Mohammad Naeem.

Dr Shahzad told Dawn that the committee would present its report within a day or two.

He added that the stolen parts were said to be worth Rs60,000 to Rs70,000. The hospital management has lodged a complaint against the unknown robbers with New Town police station.

He said out of 12 ACs, four units were installed in the blood bank and eight others in the hospital’s old building.

If the robbers turn out to be officials of the hospital, we would recover the money from their salaries, he added.
