KARACHI: Speaking at a ceremony on Friday for a crowd management course conducted for police by Rangers under which 92 policemen got training, DIG South Sharjeel Kharal said that as the ‘red zone’, important financial institutions and consulates were located in the South zone, it had become imperative to set up a ‘crowd management unit’ which could disperse protesters by “using force in a professional manner”.
He said that anti-riot operations were a basic function of any force in the world. He appreciated the performance of the crowd management unit. He expressed his gratitude to DG Rangers Maj Gen Omer Ahmed Bukhari for providing training.
