MULTAN: Senior politician Javed Hashmi, who remained in detention during Gen Musharraf ‘s rule in a sedition case, says he was undressed and tortured in front of his daughter.

Talking to media here on Tuesday, the veteran politician said he was revealing this ‘inhuman’ treatment meted out to him for the first time.

Hashmi was sentenced to 23 years jail in a sedition case by a sessions court. He was released on bail after four years detention in the Adiala jail. The sentence was later set aside by the Lahore High Court.

“But they failed to achieve their goal to tame me. Struggling for masses, democracy and Pakistan is my mission,” he said.

He said a national commission should be constituted to probe PTI’s Islamabad sit-in.

“When Imran Khan ordered attack on PTV and parliament, I left for Multan in anger.”

He said people responsible for price hike were investors of PTI and that was why the PM was helpless against them.

He said efforts were underway to control the mainstream and social media which would backfire.
