RAWALPINDI, Aug 23: Secretary Petroleum Ahmed Waqar on Tuesday said that the investment climate in the country had become very conducive due to the positive and effective policies of the government.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of a petrol and gas pump of Admore Company here, the secretary said that the government was offering equal opportunities in all fields to local as well foreign investors.

He said that the foreign and local investors were taking keen interest in oil and gas and had invested billions of rupees in the sector.

He said that Admore was the sixth company that had invested Rs500 million during the last 18 month and had established 67 petrol pumps in the country.

The Secretary Petroleum urged the oil companies to concentrate on improving the storage facilities.

Admore Chief Executive and Chairman Saeed Mehdi said that the company would invest Rs1.4 billion in Pakistan by end of 2006 and the number of petrol pumps would reach 140.—APP
