Inflation

THE Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Asad Umar, while admitting that inflation has increased, has gone on to say that all those involved in the artificial price hike will face strict action.

The Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, in a press conference said the government knows who are the hoarders and that they won’t escape punishment.

The government needs to realise that millions of more people have been pushed further into poverty during the 16 months of this government’s rule.

The country is facing 14.6 per cent inflation; the highest in the 12 years, including 10 years of the past two governments which the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf never tires of calling corrupt and incompetent.

It is time the government moved from promises and commitments to taking action to reduce hardship of the people.
