LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) cyber crime wing on Wednesday arrested a man and a woman for allegedly blackmailing a businessman.

According to FIA officials, a complaint was received from Ibrar Hussain Bukhari, a resident of DHA, Lahore, that he had been harassed, threatened and blackmailed for his objectionable videos captured deceitfully by two women, Isbah Habibullah and Tareeza, who used to visit his house. The complainant said the videos were shared with him from two local and an international number.

An FIA official said the suspects were demanding Rs500 million from the businessman and threatened him that if the amount was not paid, the videos would be uploaded on social media.

The FIA Lahore cyber crime in charge constituted a raiding team to trace and arrest the suspects. The team conducted a raid in the Moon Market and arrested one of the suspects, Isbah Habibulllah and her alleged accomplice, Iftikhar Ali alias Joji.

The official said when two mobile phones recovered from the suspects were analyzed, the objectionable material mentioned by the complainant was found in the devices’ memory.

“After availability of sufficient evidence against the suspects an FIR has been registered against them under sections 20, 21 & 24 of PECA-2016 R/w 420,109-PPC.” he said.
