KHAIRPUR, Aug 22: The president of the People’s Party Parliamentarians, Sindh chapter, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, has said that the Election Commission should take notice of statements of the Sindh chief minister who is hurling threats to opposition candidates during official visits to different towns.

He was speaking at a corner meeting in Mohalla Butro on Sunday night.

Mr Shah alleged SHOs, DSPs and TPOs had been given tasks to elect govt-backed candidates at all costs. He said the election commission had delayed the first phase results which tantamount to rigging.

Nafisa Shah and Syed Amjad Shah also spoke on the occasion.

PROTEST: Traders and citizens observed a complete shutter-down strike in Gambat town on Monday in protest against robbery at Sikandar Shaikh’s jewellery shop.

Six unidentified armed men robbed gold ornaments and injured one citizen in firing.
