TOBA TEK SINGH: Six people, including five members of a family, were injured seriously when a van overturned by a roadside near Noorpur Railway Station on the Toba-Gojra Road on Monday.

Rescue 1122 said the van was going to Chak 285-JB from Gojra when its tyre burst and it turned over and caught fire. As a result, the van driver, Asghar Ali Gujjar of Chak 285-JB, Ghulam Mohyuddin, 55, and four members of his family, namely his wife Shahnaz Kausar, 52, Feroza Ijaz, 30, her daughter Hira Ijaz, 3, and her son Junaid, 2, were wounded.

They were shifted to the Gojra Tehsil Headquarter Hospital. The van was completely burnt before firefighters could do anything.

In another incident, three college girls were injured when their motorcycle-rickshaw overturned after its wheel was dislodged near M-4 underpass bridge on Toba-Majhi Sultan Road.

The injured girls who were identified as Aqsa Iqbal, Fatima Abbas and Tehmina Munwwar were rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital.
