PIA decision to appoint GSA opposed

CHITRAL, Jan 16: Apprehensions and concerns are being expressed by the public over the decision of the PIA management to give the contract of PIA flights on Peshawar-Chitral-Peshawar to a General Sales Agent (GSA).

The PIA had decided recently to abolish the local routes including Saidu Sharif, Parachinar, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan and give the contract of Chitral route to a private party. The reason has been stated to lessen the financial loss.

The people contend that due to peculiar geographical feature, the government should bear the financial loss.
