SIALKOT: Five students of the Govt Boys Polytechnic College on Paris Road were shot at and injured by 10 motorcyclists at the main gate of the institution.

Ali Ajmal, Shahzad Ahmed, Abdul Ahad, Imtiaz Riaz and Ahmed Ali were injured in the firing that created panic among the students. The suspects fled firing in the air.

Officials of the Rescue 1122 shifted the injured to the Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital in a critical condition.

Police said the firing incident seemed to be an outcome of an enmity.

ACCIDENT: A nurse died after she fell from a place left open for installing an elevator at the third floor of a private hospital in Pasrur on Friday.

Asma Bibi, 20, mistakenly stepped onto the open place meant for the elevator and fell. She died on the spot. The tragedy shook the family that had scheduled her marriage in the first week of March.

She was laid to rest at Dhoda-Kalaaswala village graveyard.
