FAISALABAD: A dacoit was killed and three villagers sustained injuries in a dacoity bid in the area of Mamonkanjan police.

Police spokesman said on Wednesday that Ghulam Abbas of Chak 511-GB along with his friends Saleem and Ejaz was going somewhere on a motorcycle when two bandits intercepted them and tried to loot them at gunpoint.

The motorcyclists resisted their bid and raised an alarm. Villagers of nearby locality tried to overpower the dacoits. During clash, the two robbers and three villagers received injuries.

The area police also reached the spot after getting information and shifted the injured to nearby hospital where one of the outlaws expired.

He was was identified as Saeed. His accomplice Azhar, resident of Rehmay Shah, was under treatment.

SEARCH OPERATION: Police have arrested 14 suspect during a search operation in Chak 204-RB, Canal Road.

Police spokesman said here on Wednesday that Madina Town police along with elite force, CTD and special branch conducted search operation in Chak 204-RB and rounded up 14 suspect, including Ahmad Ali, Muhammad Shakeel, Boota, Jaffar, Ali, Akbar, Amin, Haneef, Abdur Rasheed.

The police also recovered illicit weapons and drugs from them.
