Protest against PPP leader

NAWABSHAH, Aug 20: Hundreds of residents of the Hakeem Bughio village belonging to the PML-backed Awami Ittehad blocked the National Highway near Panjo Mail in protest against PPP leader Syed Sher Mohammad Shah alias Eidan Shah.

Residents, including Yaqoob Bughio, Mohammad Ali Bughio, Mohammad Ayub Bughio, Mohammad Mithal Bughio, Jabbar Parhiyar, Allah Dino Channo and Abdullah Unnar, said they always voted for the PPP on request of Syed Eidan Shah but his atrocities had increased so they decided to vote for the PML-backed candidate this time.

They said for that reason they had invited the chief minister’s adviser, Mr Ghulam Rasool Unnar, to the village on Friday.

They said the same night Eidan Shah came with six to seven henchmen and kidnapped Haji Khan Bughio and his son Amanullah and tortured them all night.

Later, Haji Khan was released in critical condition who was admitted to the PMC hospital but Amanullah was still missing.

They said Eidan Shah was threatening them to vote for the PPP. They demanded that the government should recover Amanullah as his life was in danger.

SHO Sakrand reached the spot and assured them that their case would be registered after which they dispersed peacefully.

The villagers later staged a demonstration outside the press club.

PROTEST: Dozens of residents, including women, of the Bhooral village near Nawabshah staged a protest demonstration against atrocities of and influential landlord outside the press club here on Saturday.

The protesters, including Gulab Chandio and Niaz Chandio, said Syed Mohibullah Shah was torturing villagers by picking them up through the police.

They said he was demanding Rs150,000 from them instead of paying them labour for the last 10 years.
