I WOULD like to urge the railway authorities to utilise the Drigh Road railway station to cater to passengers from densely populated areas in the northern part of Karachi to reduce the pressure on the Karachi cantonment station. A very large population resides in this part of the city.
At present all passengers have to disembark at the cantonment station and then travel back to their areas of residence by public transport. The stopover of trains at Drigh Road is short which is difficult to manage. Passengers with extra baggage cannot disembark from the train.
It would save time for thousands of passengers if all upcountry trains make a few minutes longer stop at Drigh Road railway station.
